Dr. Matt Brounley is the special projects coordinator at the American Musicological Society and the lead organizer for the Many Musics of America series. He received his Ph.D. from Stony Brook University in 2023 and specializes in American popular music studies. In addition to serving on the AMS staff, Dr. Brounley is on faculty at Rutgers University and Long Island University: Brooklyn. He has presented work at numerous scholarly conferences and his written work can be found in The Cambridge Companion to the Electric Guitar, The Wiley Handbook to Listening, and Americas: An Hemispheric Music Journal.
