Seminole Legends and Songs

Seminole Legends and Songs is a public event, co-organized with the Center for Music of the Americas (CMA) at Florida State University, that explores the musical and artistic traditions of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Seminole artist, Brian Zepeda will present traditional stories and songs that narrate his people’s rich history and vibrant present, and will show and discuss some of the beadwork for which he is known throughout the world. The event will be held at the Blue Tavern, a unique cafe, bar, and music venue in Midtown, Tallahassee.

Performer: Brian Zepeda, Seminole Tribe of Florida; practitioner of Seminole arts, including storytelling, songs, history, art, and craftwork. Member of the Florida Folklife Council.
