Jess Garrard is a 2nd Year Filmmaking student at Leeds Beckett University, originally from North Shields, Tyne and Wear. The production designer on Raffaella Warren-Barbieri's debut short Scopa, she has a keen interest in visual elements of filmmaking, with the aspiration to become both an art director and screenwriter post-graduation. She's currently writing an assortment of screenplays covering different aspects of the female experience, whether that be reproductive rights and female autonomy (graduation film Sirens), relationship with religious upbringing and sisterhood (Simnasho) or navigation into adulthood (The Girls of Sangenjaya).
